I am a freelance web developer and writer currently living in Bangkok, Thailand with 15 years experience and 12 years specializing in web accessibility. I work with Thai and American clients, the largest being The Center for Excellence in Disabilities at WVU and Bangkok RIA.
I've worked with agencies, private businesses of all sizes in different markets as well as in the public and non-profit sectors. Some of my previous work is highlighted below.
I am the sole Web Developer at the West Virginia University Center for Excellence in Disabilities (WVU CED). The WVU CED website consists of over 300 pages that are individually maintained. In inherited the site when I got hired full time in 2010. At that time, it was built on IIS and its template was built in native ASP. Since that time, I oversaw two separate technology changes. The first was a migration to a LAMP server and a new PHP template of my design. I created a number of database driven web applications to aid in conference registrations and information dissemination.
In 2017, however, the WVU CED moved to centralize technologies with the WVU Health Science Center and I oversaw another migration to use the Umbraco CMS. With a team from the WVU Branding and the Health Science center, I lead the design efforts to create and implement a new template to be consistent with WVU branding.
Maintaining the website and web applications is my primary function at the CED, but I also consult other University departments and state agencies on all things related to Web Accessibility.

This site is built on Twitter Bootstrap and uses basic PHP for page construction. I've built and designed this entire site from the ground up.
The WVPTI Data application was a Single Page Application (SPA) of my own design. It uses relational databases in MySQL to manage thousands of records of client information and intake data. The model in in MySQL. The view is HTML, and the controllers use jQuery and AJAX. I can share the design and sample code on request. Of course access to the system is restricted, but I can provide a live demo.

Monitoring for Accessibility and University Websites: Meeting the Needs of People with Disabilities
In late 2012, Dr. Soloveiva and I did a project to evaluate West Virignia University Websites for web accessibility. We turned our research into a white a paper that was accepted for publication in the Journal of Postsecondary Education and Disability. You can read the publication here. Since then, WVU has made many systemic changes to improve the accessibility of their websites and educational content for everyone.
I maintained the WV BASS Nation website for content and bug fixes as needed sincen 2014. In 2020, I redesigned the template components for this WordPress site. All content on the site is created and managed by the client.
From 2007-2008 I was employed by ShareThis, Inc as a developer. At the time, ShareThis was a small company headquartered in Columbus, OH. We had all of 8 team members. Our operations were headed by former AOL alum Mike Blackwell. My role was pretty much anything the start up needed including website/web application development, technical writing, customer support and quality assurance.
I developed in PHP, HTML, CSS, jQuery, MooTools, Wordpress, and bbPress. For our development procedures we used the SCRUM iterative and incremental agile software development framework. For task tracking, we used Version One and version control was managed with Subversion. I also worked with customers directly and wrote the product support documentation. I was also in charge with the product's quality assurance using JIRA for task management. You can read about all of my responsibilities at ShareThis in a document I wrote describing my experience.
The Bangkok R.I.A. Group (BRIA) website is built on WordPress. I was contracted to redesign the WordPress template and rewrite all English language content with consideration to technical accuracy.
